💚 Melanie (36) and Alfio (38) have been a couple since they were 17 and 19 years old, respectively. For both of them, it was their first great love. Alfio almost left Melanie once. There was a major crisis because Alfio wanted to move to Sicily, his parents' homeland. Ultimately, however, love prevailed, and Alfio stayed in Germany with Melanie. Manfred (59) and Thomas (55) have been a couple for 31 years. It wasn't love at first sight, they both say. When Manfred had an affair a few years ago, their relationship almost broke down. But Thomas persevered and, despite hurt feelings, successfully fought for the relationship. Andries (78) and Ulla (74) have been together for 57 years. They've learned that trying to change each other is pointless. They say: "A healthy approach to conflict and never losing respect for your partner—that's the secret to our love." The three-part documentary series "This Is Love – Our Relationship Will Last Forever" tells the story of three couples who got together young and stayed together. We learn how they fell in love, but also why their relationships almost failed. And they share how they overcame their crises and why they are now convinced that nothing can tear them apart.
