My diver instructor told me this is common and that I should take care of it using a neti pot. Here's how I took care of it in case this happens to you. Since mine wasn't severe, I decided to simply keep the area clean with the occasional rinse for a few days. The important thing is to not go spearfishing or freediving while it's healing.
