Brand-New LED Lights at Dymchurch (Eastbridge Road) Level Crossing, Kent

Date filmed: Saturday the 29th of March 2025 Video filmed at 11:23 Route: Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway (RH&DR) Dymchurch Station Crossing type: Automatic half Barrier Crossing Locally-monitored by train crew (ABCL) Filming location: Eastbridge Road, Dymchurch (TN29 0PE) One of two level crossings found in Dymchurch either side of the town's station on the 1/3 sized Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway. Less than three weeks before this video was filmed, brand-new 'Mk.2' LED wigwags were installed at this level crossing, with the former halogen bulb variants de-commissioned and removed during a road closure. This now means 4/5 'active' level crossings between Hythe and New Romney have LED lights at them, though the ones here could've benefited from a good clean before they were commissioned. The whole controlling logic of the crossing has also been over-hauled, but minimal noticeable difference can be seen from this video. This is also the only level crossing on the line to have both LED's and the German-made 'Pintsch Bamag' barriers, modified to UK standard.
