This is the first message I have to say: if you burn out, it's not your fault; it's because you take things to heart that you want to do the right thing. People who don't care about others who are self-centered don't burn out. So it's very important because I think we have a much too guilt-inducing discourse, there's a whole psychologizing discourse that would show that if we have a burnout it's my fault, it's because I don't do well enough without seeing that it's because we want to do too well that we have a burnout. Everyone needs to be recognized and burnout, studies that have been done in a very precise way show that burnout comes first from a crisis in the relationship. It's not the intensity of the work that creates burnout, first of all it's the fact that I'm suffocating. I can't do it anymore because there's something that isn't recognized, my work loses its meaning, something becomes absurd, something becomes hard. It's really very strange that we have trouble understanding when it's obvious: burnout is a social illness and not a psychological illness. When we are recognized in a healthy environment with the means to do our job, we don't burn out. So it's important to be able to identify the structural inhumanity in which we are. It's the weight that we should be perfect that kills us and that will lead to burnout. It's not that we are fallible that leads to burnout, it's the fact that we blame ourselves for being fallible that leads to burnout.
