The Festival of Saint John ("Festas de São João") in the city of Porto, one of the most anticipated events of the year in Portugal! The Festival of Saint John is the most important cultural celebration in Porto and one of Europe's liveliest street festivals. Held annually on the night of June 23rd and into the early morning hours of June 24th, the festivities pay tribute to Saint John the Baptist.
