This celebration was our first experience filming and photographing a same sex wedding, and it left a mark on us in the best way. The energy, the style, and the level of connection between the couple and everyone around them was something else. We first met them around 18 months before the wedding, with Steve clearly leading the charge as the organiser and creative brain behind the day. As plans evolved, one name kept appearing again and again across the supplier list: Stephen James. Flowers, decorations, place cards, seating plan, menus, napkins, confetti cones, balloon release tags, hot chocolate favours, sparkler signs, even signature cocktails - all handmade and perfected under the Steve James Ltd banner. Nothing was left to chance. The day itself unfolded across two brilliant Dorset venues: Minterne House for the ceremony, chosen for its grandeur and gardens, then back to Lesley Waters Cookery School for a marquee reception - a place close to Steve’s heart from years of chef training there, and a venue with real meaning behind it. Second shooting with me was George Melente, covering Rob’s preparations and adding video support, which gave the final story real depth across the full day.
