Hey everyone! How's it going?! We visited the municipality of Monteiro, located 319 kilometers from João Pessoa, in the Western Cariri microregion of Paraíba. In Monteiro, popular culture is prominent, developed mainly in cordel literature, the sounds of the accordion and viola, and the rustic sound of the pífano, an instrument immortalized by Isabel Marques da Silva, better known as Zabé da Loca, born in Pernambuco but a Paraíba resident by choice.
