How do I get my Lionel Postwar 2035 to run after sitting for years?

I purchased this 1950 Lionel 2035 off of Ebay. It was listed as a "parts engine", "as is". I could tell all the main parts were there so I bought it. It came with a whistle tender and the original boxes for both. When it finally arrived it looked amazing. It needed some TLC and a couple parts, but it runs beautifully now.
