Luciano Pavarotti (1935-2007) Born and died in Modena, Italy, Pavarotti was an Italian tenor who was known for his seemingly effortless high Cs during the early stage of his career. Here he sings 'Non piangere Liu' in a live performance of Puccini's Turandot in 1977. Leona Mitchell is Liu, and Giorgio Tozzi is Timur. In my opinion, Pavarotti should not have ventured into the heavier roles like Calaf with his beautiful bel canto voice. But nevertheless this rendition is still very nice.
