The Dales High Way Backpack (Augmented) HD 1080p

Join me on another truly amazing, not to mention challenging, trip as I backpack an augmented version of the Dales High Way long distance path, following the high ground of the Yorkshire Dales from Saltaire to Appleby in Westmoreland. I added 34 miles to the traditional route because I wanted to climb all three of the Yorkshire 'three peaks' as well as to take in some other things that were off route. My intention was to backpack this 'pure style' , carrying everything on my back in a 15 kg rucksack, covering the 124 miles in 7 days, climbing 18,000 feet in the process. It didn't work out quite as I had planned as you will see in the video, but I still managed to win through! I have completed quite a few backpack trips over the years, this one was in 2018 when I was 70 years old. Unlike some of my other backpacks, the weather for this one was near perfect.....although it was crazily HOT! There's no pleasing some people 🤣 It was a memorable and very meaningful trip for me, and I have created this 'video' from the many photographs that I took, combined with my journal that I wrote each day.
