NEW Weinsberg CaraCompact 640 MEG: Best VALUE Mercedes Motorhome? The Mercedes based Weinsberg CaraCompact 640 MEG Pepper Edition is probably the best value Mercedes motrhome you can buy new in 2026. Weinsberg is a German manufacturer , part of the Knaus group. The 640 MEG is a 2 berth motorhome, with 4 travel seats. It is 6.92m long, 2.3m wide and 2.75m high. It is a 3500kg motorhome, you can drive it on your car licence. There is a 4.2t chassis option if you have C1. The CaraCompact has a 2.0 litre engine and 150hp as standard. You can have automatic transmission as an optional extra. Prices start at around £82,000 for a basic model. The one reviewed had some optional factory extras added to it, taking the price to £90,000. This is still the most affordable Mercedes motorhome on the market. The internal finish is a quality feeling dark wood, the layout provides two longitudinal beds at the rear. These are a good length of 200cm and there is storage under each bed. The kitchen is compact but nicely equipped with a worktop extension flap and gas oven and grill. The shower and washroom are nicely finished and offers a serepate shower cubicle within this room. For the price, the Weinsberg is a solid motorhome, finished to a good standard and should be considered in the Mercedes entry level market.
