[Full Description Body] Severe thunderstorms throughout the week have pushed the Des Plaines River out of its banks, with a predicted crest of 10.73 feet today, Sunday, April 19, 2026. This footage shows the extent of the flooding on the east side of town and the impact on local landmarks. Current Road Closures & Impacted Areas: Grand Avenue: Closed between Milwaukee Avenue and O’Plaine Road. Old Grand Avenue: Closed between Grand Avenue and Emerald Avenue. Kilbourne Road: Closed between Grand Avenue and Route 41. Local Parks: High water reported at Gowe Park and Esper Petersen Park.
