ROSACEA: Rosacea occurs in 1.5% to 10% of cases studied. It occurs mainly in adults between 30 and 50 years of age. It is a chronic inflammatory vascular disease. Learn what it is, how to care for it, what the treatment is and tips on how to combat it and get rid of it! It is a chronic inflammatory vascular disease, erroneously called “acne rosacea”. Acne is a disease of the sebaceous gland, completely different from rosacea. It is more common in women, but affects many men with greater severity, with progression to a gradual increase in the size of the nose due to thickening and dilation of follicles. 30% of cases have a positive family history, evidencing a possible genetic basis. There is a strong influence of psychological factors, stress, eating habits and lifestyle in general. Natural treatments for rosacea are aimed at alleviating symptoms: COCONUT OIL It has antibacterial, antifungal and anti-inflammatory action, locally and at the intestinal level, causing a lower absorption of processed foods that can cause rosacea, remembering that the ideal is to avoid industrialized foods. It can be used in the preparation of different dishes and applied to the skin to moisturize and relieve redness. ALOE VERA – aloe vera has regenerative, healing and moisturizing action. Use only the internal part (gelatin, without the yellow resin and without the peel). Let the resin drain, remove the peel and store the gel and apply it to the affected areas. ROSE WATER – It has antiseptic properties. Rose water has been used to relieve and prevent the symptoms of rosacea, just as cucumber can also be used to reduce eye sensitivity for the treatment of ocular rosacea. LAVENDER ESSENTIAL OIL – antiseptic and anti-inflammatory. It can be applied directly to the skin, but a patch test is necessary to check for allergic reactions. HONEY – antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory, it helps reduce redness due to its moisturizing power. Flaxseed oil – Due to its omega 3, it has a similar action to coconut oil, helping to reduce inflammation. CUCUMBER MASK – highly moisturizing, it opens pores and reduces the size of blood vessels, reducing redness. TURMERIC – due to its anti-inflammatory properties, it is NOT recommended to apply it directly to the skin. OATMEAL – Moisturizing and eliminates redness. Prepare a paste with oatmeal and water (very cold). Apply to the face for 20 to 30 minutes. RECIPE Ingredients Petals from 1 rose and 1/2 1 liter of water Preparation method Boil the petals with one liter of water. Let it cool, strain and store in the refrigerator in a tightly closed glass jar. Apply to the skin in the morning and at night and if there is a crisis, apply more times during the day.
