60007 Sir Nigel Puts the Modern Railway to Shame - Carlisle 23.05.24

Following a night of heavy rainfall Avanti, Trans-Pennine Express, Northern Rail and even the usually totally reliable ScotRail all cancelled their services - but a 1930s steam locomotive cheerfully hauled its train over two of the closed routes. If Sir Nigel were looking down on the 21st century railway from the Chief Mechanical Officer's place in the afterlife, he must have been rubbing his hands with glee!
