Story: The monk Johannes Caioni in 1652 received a music collection from his teacher. The collection was in incomplete form and took over the task of adding compositions, an activity that he continued until 1671. The collection became known as the CAIONI CODEX. In the 1980s, the music bundle was found in a wall of a shelter where monks had hidden it from the Russian soldiers during World War II.
