Whether you're a tourist or a local, this guide will show you the fastest and easiest way to take the subway to Brooklyn Bridge – City Hall. In this video, I took the 4 train (express) from Grand Central, but I’ll also cover all train options and the best route for a smooth ride! 📍 Step-by-Step Subway Directions: 1️⃣ Start at Grand Central - 42nd St Station Enter the station and follow signs for the 4, 5, 6 trains (Green Line). 2️⃣ Take an Uptown OR Downtown Train? You need a DOWNTOWN train (heading toward Brooklyn & The Bronx). Look for signs that say “Downtown & Brooklyn” before going through the turnstiles. 3️⃣ Board the 4 or 5 Express Train 🚄 (Best Option!) Why take express? The 4 and 5 trains skip many stops, making the trip faster. DO NOT take the 6 train – it’s a local train and makes every stop, which takes longer. 4️⃣ Ride 2 Stops to Brooklyn Bridge - City Hall 🚉 First stop: 14th St - Union Square 🚉 Second stop: Brooklyn Bridge - City Hall (your destination!) 5️⃣ Exit the Station Once you arrive at Brooklyn Bridge - City Hall, follow exit signs for "Brooklyn Bridge". If you want to walk on the bridge, take the Centre St Exit—it leads directly to the pedestrian entrance. 🚇 Pro Tips for a Smooth Subway Ride: ✅ Take the Express 4 or 5 train – It’s the fastest way to get there! ✅ Check the last stop on the screen before boarding – This confirms you're on a downtown train. ✅ Use OMNY tap-to-pay – No need for a MetroCard!
