One in 15 Japanese people suffer from dyslexia, a learning disability that makes it difficult to read and write. Kohei is a second-grade elementary school student in Komaki City, Aichi Prefecture. He loves playing with blocks and is a bit of a mischievous boy. His favorite subjects are art and physical education. He doesn't like other subjects very much. There's a reason for this. When he has someone read to him from his Japanese textbook... "I'm a ku-ji-ra-ko." When he writes his name in hiragana... "I made a mistake!" It's because he has great difficulty reading and writing. Dyslexia is a learning disability that makes it difficult to read and write despite having no intellectual impairment. It's said to affect 7% of the population, but it often goes unnoticed. We interviewed him to find out the reality of this condition.
