Trains at St Cross Bridge, Winchester | Scenic Mainline Spotting
Today I visited St Cross Bridge in Winchester to try out this scenic mainline spotting location. From this elevated viewpoint you get a great angle of trains passing through the cutting, with a mix of freight and passenger services using the line. I’ve also included route maps for selected trains using the TrainMapper app, which shows the paths trains have taken across the network. This spot offers a unique perspective of mainline traffic and is well worth a visit for rail enthusiasts looking for a quieter filming location around Winchester.
