The LEGO System For Bluegrass Guitar

Tony Rice’s break for Blue Ridge Cabin Home from The Bluegrass Album Band is a classic, I even made a YouTube lesson for it a million years ago. What’s amazing to me about that break is when most people play something that is busy it is not that listenable. That quality is the difference between a legendary player like Tony Rice and all the Phony Tonys out there. It’s one thing to learn all the licks and play them one after another but it’s another thing entirely to put together a logical break over a bluegrass vocal tune that is worth listening to.
