नयाँ वर्षमा छाब्दी बारहीमा घुईंचो र तांती कमिलाको लाईन जस्तै / Chhabdi Barahi / Bhuwan Singh Thapa Magar Chhabdi Barahi temple Byas 14 Tanahun Nepal . Chhabdi Barahi Temple located in the Tanahun district of western Nepal, approximately 7 to 10 kilometers east of Damauli, the district headquarters. Nestled within a serene forested area, the temple is dedicated to Goddess Chhabdi Barahi, a deity believed to have originated in the form of a fish. According to local legend, the site was once a popular fishing spot until an incident where an arrow struck a rock, causing it to bleed. This event led to the cessation of fishing activities and the establishment of the temple to honor the goddess .   The temple is renowned for its unique rituals, including the practice of animal sacrifice, where devotees offer goats, pigeons, roosters, or coconuts to seek blessings. However, such sacrifices are prohibited during specific periods like Aunsi (new moon), Ekadashi, and the month of Shrawan (July-August). The temple priests, traditionally from the Magar community, perform these rituals on behalf of the worshippers .    In addition to its religious significance, Chhabdi Barahi Temple serves as a popular picnic destination, especially among the youth. Visitors can enjoy the natural beauty of the surrounding area, including a waterfall located behind the temple. The temple complex also houses a small shrine dedicated to Bhimsen, where the Panchabali ritual (sacrifice of five different animals and birds) is performed during the month of Aswin (September-October) .
