Abidjan : capitale des gangs et des trafics

Abidjan, the economic capital of Côte d'Ivoire, is a megalopolis of more than five million inhabitants, representing a fifth of the country's population. This city, the most populated in West Africa, combines modern business districts financed by oil and cocoa, and vast shanty towns. In these precarious areas, residents survive thanks to odd jobs and illegal trafficking, while gangs, called "coupeurs de route", extort money from motorists. The police are trying to reorganize to deal with this growing crime.
