On December 10, 2023, the brand-new Desiro HC trains (Class 1462) will enter service with DB Regio Bayern. They will run on many important regional train lines in Franconia, including routes from Nuremberg via Bamberg to Würzburg, Saalfeld, and Sonneberg. The train was presented to the public for the first time on October 19. Deutsche Bahn held a press event where invited journalists could tour the train and take a ride. Thankfully, Deutsche Bahn also invited me to their press event, and therefore, in this video, I can give you a detailed presentation of the train, including all its advantages and disadvantages, and take you along on a test ride.
