The nucleotides are joined to each other by bonds called phosphodiester (phosphate group connecting two sugars of two nucleotides). In these bonds, a phosphate group connects the 3' carbon of one sugar to the 5' carbon of the next sugar. This junction of nucleotides forms a typical pattern of repeating sugar-phosphate units, which form the main chain. The nitrogenous bases are attached to this main chain. In this class we will talk about the structure of DNA and the Chargaff relationship. #ProfGui #Module1 #Class09
