Appalachian Trail 2026 thru-hike: Day 70

Day 70 of my Appalachian Trail thru-hike! Despite a day of a lot of corn field walking.. the trail definitely didn’t let us get away with a lack of rocky inclines and descents into town. More than 14 miles of fields made today quite easy to do big miles. It was an interesting change of pace for Pennsylvania, definitely not something I expected. The sun was easily dealt with by an umbrella but there was no escaping the smell of a fresh manuered field. It could be worse though, hiking past chicken farms takes the lead for worst smells. The town of Boiling Springs was really beautiful and you can tell a lot of care is taken to upkeep what they have going on, despite it not being a lot. Duncannon seemed a bit bigger but most businesses were closed. After a quick last few miles out of Duncannon I finally made it to a campsite. The big push was to help make the next few days a bit easier, putting me only 30 miles out of the next decent resupply. Tenting 1121.1 → Tenting 1154.8 Total Miles: 33.7 Thanks for watching!
