What does the knowledge of Jesus Christ bring? "All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." (Colossians 2:1-3) For I want you to know how great a struggle I have for you and for those at Laodicea and for all who have not seen me face to face, that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God's mystery, which is Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. The central thread in the great story of the world is not the world's redemption from what went wrong: it's the glorification of the world from infancy to perfection: and how the human family is called by God to become a real partner with the Almighty in continuing the work of creation. The fall of man was a false start- and with that false start cleared away and healed by Christ, He takes us to ever-more splendid heights, first taking us back to Paradise and then showing us riches even more brilliant than Eden. But most importantly- and wondrously- the Father, in weaving the divine life of the eternal Son into the created life of the human family, grants mankind the power, by the Spirit, to share with Him the utter delight of fashioning, building up, and filling the cosmos with an endless and always-renewing variety of divine Beauties.
