Recording date: 27th June 2026 Abitibi Metals has secured full ownership of the B26 polymetallic copper-gold deposit in Quebec, completing what was originally a seven-year option agreement with SOQUEM in just two and a half years. This accelerated timeline reflects strong confidence in the asset, which hosts an estimated 25 million tonnes grading 2.15% copper equivalent, or roughly 2.6 million gold-equivalent ounces. The deposit contains a balanced mix of copper, gold, silver, and zinc, offering exposure to both base and precious metals. Located in the Abitibi greenstone belt, B26 is considered a high-grade volcanic-hosted massive sulphide system with significant scale potential. It spans 1.6 kilometres in strike length and extends to approximately 1,100 metres in depth. Management believes the deposit’s grade variability and surrounding infrastructure provide flexibility for future mine development, particularly as commodity prices evolve. The acquisition also strengthens the project’s economics. Abitibi reduced the royalty burden to a 1% net smelter return with no additional underlying royalties and secured a 10-year right of first refusal on nearby government-owned properties, opening the door to potential regional expansion. Financially, the company is well positioned, holding approximately $45 million in cash. This fully funds an 80,000-metre drill program and all planned technical work through early 2028, allowing progress without reliance on external financing. Three drill rigs are currently active, targeting both resource expansion and grade improvement. Abitibi aims to grow the resource to between 35 and 45 million tonnes ahead of a Preliminary Economic Assessment scheduled for the first quarter of 2027. With strong market demand for copper and increasing interest in copper-gold assets, the company’s combination of scale, grade, and jurisdiction places it among a limited pool of advanced development opportunities in Canada’s mining sector.
