Preston Dock Swingbridge
For a change we take a look at this interesting mix of road, rail and river on the Preston Dock Swingbridge used by the Ribble Steam Railway as well as local freight traffic in the city of Preston,United Kingdom. The bridge itself is a two span, pylon supported steel able span bridge able to be swung open to allow access to the dock marina but also has two traditional barrier crossings yards apart on one end, the crossing over the bridge as well as another crossing and pedestrian crossing at the other end all only a few hundred yards apart from each other. We take a look at the bridge and some trains during the cold and very windy Santa season in the end of 2023.
