La lengua muisca de Bogotá: Un acercamiento a sus fuentes de estudio
Diego Fernando Gómez - Researcher, Colonial History Area, ICANH For many, Muisca was the ancient language spoken throughout the Cundiboyacense plateau, but recent research has determined the existence of a wide Chibchan linguistic diversity in this territory. In fact, we only have written sources to study one of these languages: the Muisca of Bogotá. What was its extent? How can we study this language if it has no speakers? What is a Muisca loanword, and how does it contribute to the study of the ancient linguistic diversity of the Eastern Cordillera? Answering these questions will be the objective of this talk.
