Now, the part you just pulled through should be in your right hand, and the other part should hang down. Now, take the part that's just hanging down with your left hand and point it to the right. Next, take the piece with your right hand and simply bring it to the front and fold it so it's now pointing down. Once you've done that, take the vertically hanging end and bring it up through the loop you just created from below. Once you've passed it through the hole, pull both ends of the formal ascot tight.
