Rural buildings constructed in a traditional way are an integral part of the local cultural heritage. Traditional architecture in most places has evolved and Kashmir is no exception. But along with evolution in many regions it has been taken over by modern methods and materials. Yet a number of buildings in various parts of Kashmir accommodate local, natural and cultural factors.
