With the engine running, depress the brake and move the shift lever twice in the order of P-R-N-D-N-R-P, then place it in P (holding each gear for at least 2 seconds). 6. Remove the level plug. 7. If the level plug discharges more than 900 cc after 2 minutes, the oil is overflowing. If no oil is discharged, the oil is underflowing. If a little oil is leaking out, it's normal, so complete the inspection process and install the level plug. Checking the oil temperature at 55 degrees Celsius can be difficult. When I checked with a vehicle equipped with a Dag3+, which connects to the OBD2 terminal, the water temperature gauge moved to the middle, indicating the oil temperature was around 55-60 degrees Celsius (my vehicle was a 2.0-liter diesel All-New Tucson). That's how I do it, but if there's a more accurate way, feel free to do it that way. You can also check by touching the oil pan with your hand when it feels warm (if you know what 55 degrees feels like). The instructions say to check the oil temperature and cycle P-R-N-D-N-R-P twice for at least two seconds. I only cycled once, holding it for at least five seconds, but that's the correct procedure according to the maintenance manual. If you're pumping oil through each gear, why not just double the time in each gear and do it all at once? It's probably due to the 4 liters of oil changed, but as soon as I shifted from P to D and stepped on the brake pedal, I felt the car jump forward even more. I had a previous incorrect leveling method and it didn't cause any major issues, but I think the car runs a little better now that it's more accurate. Regarding oil, unless it's low enough to cause the check oil level light to come on... I often think it's better to have too little than too much. If it's too much, you can really feel something wrong with the car right away.
