Bernardo Toledo from Brutus Motorsports tests two advanced functions of the idle air control valve in the PowerFT line with his Fiesta 2.0 Duratec and FT550: the effect on engine braking intensity with different valve openings during deceleration, and the impact on power with the valve open at full load. The same functions apply to the electronic throttle, making this content relevant to any PowerFT project. The result? More than a 12% difference in power loss during deceleration and a 1 horsepower gain at full load.
