To address the problems that plague the contemporary world, we must equip our communities with the skills to (a.) produce, identify, and interpret reliable information and (b.) coordinate and communicate informed decisions that take more people into account. The Sense & Sensibility & Science curriculum, spearheaded by Saul Perlmutter, offers an interdisciplinary conceptual toolkit of scaffolds to facilitate these skills, from probabilistic reasoning to deliberative polls. By practicing these strategies across varied contexts, from personal to societal, students can be prepared for an increasingly confusing world.
