르노삼성 SM6 TCe 시승기(RenaultSamsung SM6 TCe ; Talisman test drive)

First unveiled at Frankfurt in 2015, the SM6 marked a new beginning for Renault Samsung. The design language first introduced with the SM6 has now been fully applied to all models, and performance and convenience features have also been updated. Released in Korea the following year, in 2016, the model was expected to bring a breath of fresh air to the midsize market. Four years later, the SM6 has undergone gradual updates and improvements, with the suspension now offering even more refinement. The TCe model we test-drove is a high-performance SM6 model, positioned at the top of the range in both performance and price. It lags significantly in technology compared to the recently unveiled new Sonata. With features like the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), remote parking assist, Kakao i-based voice search, a head-up display (HUD), and a fully digital instrument cluster, the four-year gap is undeniable. However, I found that the basic features that a car should have, such as ride quality, interior comfort, and cargo space, are largely the same, or even superior. Driving performance is a prime example. I felt it was refined before, but not to this degree. This is due primarily to the excellent combination of the 1.6L gasoline turbo engine and the 7-speed DCT, along with the solid chassis that supports it. It has aged quite well over time. The quilted seats and interior are luxurious, and the livability is excellent. While it may not be as spacious as the Sonata, it's excellent for a mid-size car. The cargo space is considerably superior to the new Sonata, with both the entrance and the space being wider. I expected it to be an older model, but I was pleasantly surprised by the unexpected.
