"The Sage" from Emerson, Lake & Palmer's album "Pictures at an Exhibition" / Guitar Cover

“The Sage” (words & music by Greg Lake) is a beautiful song from Emerson, Lake & Palmer’s famous album Pictures at an Exhibition, with philosophical lyrics and a slightly mysterious mood. Greg Lake’s voice and acoustic guitar performance are simply amazing, and this was one of my favorite songs when I was a kid. I was especially fascinated by the classical-style acoustic guitar solo in the middle section, and I spent a lot of time learning it by ear. Recently, I suddenly felt like playing it again, so I made a classical guitar cover version (and of course, I played the guitar solo almost exactly like the original). Guitar cover by Masayuki Takagi. Guitar built by Arnoldo García (Granada-2019 / "Grand Concert" No.272). #classicalguitar #emersonlakeandpalmer #guitarcover The Sage - I carry the dust of a journey That cannot be shaken away It lives deep within me For I breathe it every day You and I are yesterdays answers The earth of the past come to flesh Eroded by times rivers To the shapes we now possess. Come share of my breath and my substance And mingle our streams and our times In bright infinite moments Our reasons are lost in our rhymes.
