A work by Humbertini Fermar as a tribute to the man who was a mentor, guide, and inspiration to numerous creators. Humbertini Fermar: “There are people who pass through our lives and leave their mark. And there are others who change us forever. When I was just a young man dreaming of finding my place in film and audiovisual media, Fabio Alonso appeared. He wasn't just a teacher. He was a mentor, a guide, a father figure. Someone who recognized my aspirations, nurtured my talents, and gave me the necessary tools to embark on this long journey that has been my professional career. In 2020, Fabio passed away. And with his departure, an unrepayable debt of gratitude remains.” This documentary was born precisely from that need: to preserve his memory and share with others the story of a man who dedicated his life to training generations of artists, many of whom today occupy prominent positions in Cuban culture and beyond our borders. The film was constructed from footage recorded over years, images in various formats, personal archives, and recovered materials. For this reason, not all the images possess the same technical quality. However, this is a documentary where the most important value lies not in the perfection of the image, but in the greatness of the person it portrays. More than a documentary, this work is an act of gratitude. Today I share with you the life and work of Fabio Alonso.
