On Tuesday, the United States government announced new sanctions against five Cuban entities that generate revenue for the regime of Miguel Díaz-Canel. In a statement released by the U.S. State Department, Secretary Marco Rubio announced that five Cuban entities were sanctioned following an executive order from the Trump administration. The companies are Almacenes Universales, the financial firm Rafin, the Banco Financiero Internacional, and two state-owned mining companies: Geominera and Empresa Siderúrgica José Martí, popularly known as Antillana de Acero, the country's largest steel producer. "Today I am designating five Cuban entities that generate revenue for the Cuban regime, including three associated with the previously designated Business Administration Group S.A.
