Primavera a Reggio Calabria: il "Chilometro più Bello d'Italia" con vista sull'Etna Innevato!
Reggio Calabria Walking Tour 4K: Spring on the Waterfront and Snow‑Capped Etna Welcome to MOPEG! In this video, we take you to discover the magic of Reggio Calabria. Our tour begins on Corso Garibaldi, just a few steps from the newly renovated Piazza De Nava, which is buzzing these days thanks to the third edition of “La Primavera della Bellezza”, a cultural festival bringing new life to the city. Heading down toward the coast, we pass the historic Gelateria Cesare, surrounded by the colors and sounds of a Reggio that is waking up to spring. Continuing along the Falcomatà Waterfront—where preparations for seasonal events are in full swing—you’ll notice a change in the urban landscape: several columns of Edoardo Tresoldi’s installation “Opera” have been partially removed or cut. This safety measure became necessary after the strong storms and rough seas of late January and February, which had dangerously tilted the metal structures and damaged parts of the promenade. The walk continues among the sinuous sculptures by Rabarama and the monumental roots of the Ficus Magnolioides. Here, the komorebi—the sunlight filtering through the leaves of these centuries‑old giants—creates unique patterns of light and shadow on the pavement. Along the way, we also spot an intriguing new addition: a marine energy storage system installed by Sizable Energy in collaboration with the NOEL laboratory, a project that transforms the power of sea currents into clean energy. We end the tour with our gaze on the horizon, where the sea sparkles under the sun while Mount Etna—still visibly snow‑capped—dominates the scene. The contrast between the white summit and the deep blue sky is simply breathtaking. Our final stop is the Tempietto area, now transformed into a multifunctional urban park with playgrounds, basketball courts, and fitness zones. It’s the perfect place to quietly observe fishermen and elderly locals enjoying the sun—timeless guardians of this beautiful corner of the city. If you ever visit this region, we highly recommend experiencing Reggio Calabria in spring: the city is at its best, offering the perfect moment to enjoy it fully. 📱 Want to support us?
