Larry Wagner had just discovered the body of his wife, Dawn Wagner. Investigator Leonard of the Pennsylvania State Police rushed to the scene and, upon entering, smelled the smell of death overwhelming the trailer. A trail of blood ran from the kitchen, through the hallway, and ended in the bathroom. It was there that the officers were met with the most horrific scene. Blood splattered the cabinets, walls, ceiling, sink, and bathtub. It was everywhere. The investigator discovered Dawn's body lying on the floor. Her hands were pressed to her face, as if she were defending herself with her last breath. Her body was completely covered in blood, and her hands and ankles were taped. The condition of her body and the evidence at the crime scene indicated she had been dead for at least four or five days. Naturally, the family was devastated by Dawn's death. She had three children from her previous husband before meeting Larry. However, only one of Dawn's daughters, Sarah, lived with them. Sarah was a popular and outgoing girl at school, with many friends, and as she got older, she spent more time with these friends and less time with Dawn and Larry. And that's normal. As children get older, they want to spend more time with their friends and less time with their parents. And Sarah was changing, too, and she was no longer as close to Larry and Dawn as she once was. Over time, Sarah's social circle began to raise some concerns among her parents. So Sarah began experimenting with drugs, and the habit quickly escalated. By the age of 17, she was using heroin, looking tired and thin, and it was obvious she was using drugs. Frankly, Sarah didn't try very hard to hide it from strangers. When investigators told Sarah that her mother had been found murdered, she began sobbing and screaming that it couldn't be true. She told the officers that on December 31st, a drug dealer named Stefan came to her mother's house with another man. They took her to the bathroom and told her that Sarah needed to go get money to repay them. Sarah took her mother's purse and car and went to get the money. She withdrew about $600 from an ATM and, upon returning, gave them the money on the street. Then she asked, "Did you touch my mother?" It's a strange question, but they nonetheless answer "no." Sarah takes them at their word and leaves with her son. She concludes her story by suggesting that Stefan may have been involved in the harm to her mother or her murder. However, the investigators are skeptical of Sarah's story... And suggest that Stefan may not actually exist. Looking for a lead, they contact businesses in the area and request surveillance footage from that day. A local Walmart provided detectives with a video recording of Sarah entering their store and taking a bunch of cleaning products... as well as a large blue trash can...
