I show the camping equipment from @decathlon_portugal that accompanied us on this journey and how we prepared everything for a night isolated from civilization. We dined by lantern light, in a setting where the silence is only broken by the sounds of nature. 🌙 The Magic and Mystery of the Night Exploring Levadas without any artificial lighting for miles around is a unique experience. We walked along streets where the water flows freely, discovered a carved stone cross with the image of the Virgin Mary, and entered a house that seems to have stopped in time: with the furniture and the table set, as it was left by the last inhabitants. 🧀 Tradition and Gastronomy After the exploration, we returned to the tent for a moment of comfort: cheese roasted over the fire and red wine. I explain why the houses are low to keep the heat out and show in detail the incredible zigzag irrigation system that fed the old mills on the riverbank. We end this journey with aerial drone footage and an unexpected encounter with two shepherds and their flock of over 300 goats, the true essence of rural life that still endures.
