Lights (Paul Andrews Mix) - Ellie Goulding

Recorded December 2014 into January 2015. The idea for this mix came about while I was just walking around singing “Lights” to myself. My mind gravitated towards "Finally" by CeCe Peniston and I couldn't shake the idea. I went with the David Morales arrangement for mix since there's piano in it. So the Christopher Cross "Ride Like The Wind" middle section came about while listening to some sounds on my new plugin synth. One piano sound reminded me of the song and I just started goofing around. Then I realized that it would work with the melody. The section didn’t sound right at the original “Lights” tempo, so I gradually sped it up before the full idea came in. The horns and strings I added reminds me of the energy that MacArthur Park has. I've never sped-up a middle section before, so let's see how you guys like it.
