In this guide, I'm sharing the absolute top 10 things to do in Catania, from bustling fish markets to stunning Baroque architecture. Whether you're visiting for a weekend or using it as a base to explore Sicily, Catania will surprise you with its grit, beauty, and incredible food. We spent a a couple of weeks here to bring you this ultimate travel list. What we explore in this video: Piazza del Duomo: Meeting the iconic "O Liotru" elephant statue. La Pescheria: Experiencing the sights, sounds (and smells!) of the famous fish market. Via Etnea: A walk through the heart of the city with views of Mount Etna. Ancient Ruins: Stepping inside the Roman Theatre hidden behind city walls. Sicilian Street Food: Tasting the best arancini and cannoli in town. The Church of St Agatha: Chiesa della Badia di Sant'Agata - climb the cupula for incredible views across the city and of Mount Etna. Piazza del Duomo & Catania Cathedral: Basilica Cattedrale di Sant'Agata. Castello Ursino - a 13th century fortress with a fascinating past. It's now home to a museum.
