The result of their hard work was an exceptional reward: a French Division 3 Championship title and promotion to the Second League, the second tier of French women's football. Bourges FC has entered the Top 30 of the best women's teams in France. And as if that weren't enough, the Bourges players dug deep to also win the Centre-Val de Loire Cup. This achievement transcends the realm of women's football. It is only the second French Championship title won by a Bourges club in the history of local football. The previous one dates back to 1992, when the undefeated FC Bourges reserve team was crowned French Division 4 champion (the fourth tier of French football) by defeating US Saint-Malo in the final (2-0). This time, the word "historic" is no exaggeration.
