The Wounded Activist: A Resilience Toolkit - Dr Yvon Guest
In this seminar, Dr Yvonne Guest explores the relationship between activism, trauma, identity and resilience through personal reflection and political history. Drawing on her experiences of activism from the 1970s onwards, alongside her work as a psychodynamic counsellor and researcher in trauma and resilience, Yvonne reflects on the emotional impact of sustained activism, racism, care experience and social division. The session considers how anger, compassion, self-awareness and community can shape more sustainable forms of activism and personal resilience.
