O que você sabe a respeito da doença de Huntington?

Imagine living in a world where almost no one knows your struggle, where each day is a battle against a socially invisible enemy. This video reflects the reality of many who face Huntington's disease, a complex and poorly understood condition. We asked people on the street what they knew about Huntington's, and most had no idea. But they knew about other illnesses like depression, Parkinson's disease, schizophrenia, and Alzheimer's disease. In the end, we revealed a shocking truth: having Huntington's is like living with symptoms of all these diseases at once. This is a call for awareness, compassion, and empathy. Huntington's disease brings with it a daily struggle against psychological issues, loss of motor control, and cognitive deterioration. Raising awareness about Huntington's disease is extremely necessary and urgent, so that we can continue to include the disease and its demands in society, an act that represents a great step for our families who have lived hidden for so long. Let's unite to spread knowledge, offer support, and promote respect for families with HD. Together, we can illuminate the path to a future where understanding replaces stigma and hope overcomes despair. #HiddenNoMore #HuntingtonDisease --- Huntington's Disease (HD) is a rare, genetic, hereditary, and progressive disease that affects the brain. Most people who carry the gene for the disease begin to show symptoms between the ages of 30 and 50, but in rarer cases, HD can also occur in young people and children (Juvenile HD), as well as in people over 60 years of age (Late-onset HD). ABH is a voluntary association dedicated to informing, guiding, and improving the quality of life of people and families with HD. Everyone is welcome to ABH.
