Fix This Before It Wrecks Your Engine .

Most vacuum style petcocks on motorcycles like the one on this DR650 will eventually fail, and when they do , fuel can end up in your crankcase .That's how engines get wrecked . In this video ,I replace it with a simple manual on - off - reserve style petcock . The vacuum system is there to shut fuel off when the engine stops , helping prevent overflow if the carb leaks , It will also stop flow in a crash scenario , but that's not the main reason it exists . With a manual petcock , that safety net is gone .Now it's on you . If you forget to turn it off , you'll be right back where you started , dealing with a silent killer .
