Statement from Kubilay Kaan Kundakçı's Father After the Hearing The first hearing in the case of the murder of footballer Kubilay Kaan Kundakçı, who was killed in a shooting in Ümraniye, was held. The court decided to lift the house arrest sentence of the defendant Zuhal Kalaycıoğlu and to continue the detention of the other defendants. The hearing was adjourned until July 13th. Speaking after the hearing, father Cemil Kundakçı said, "Zuhal Kalaycıoğlu's house arrest was probably lifted because of her child. From my point of view, she used her daughter to create a sensation, to exploit emotions. But the court saw this and lifted it. Perhaps they considered it for the child's health, but the trial will continue, of course. If she receives a sentence in the future, there will be someone to look after the child."
