Omega fits the Seamaster Diver 300 with a natural vulcanized rubbers trap and custom stainless steel pin buckle. The new Omega caliber 8800 is an automatic co-axial chronometer with a 55-hour power reserve, stop seconds, and a quick-set date. A full balance bridge and free sprung balance ensure toughness, and Omega’s Si14 silicon hairspring permits over 15,000 Gauss of antimagnetic resilience. The automatic movement features ceramic rotor bearings for long-wearing durability, pivots on 35 synthetic rubies, and carries a newly announced five year warranty when purchased new. Each caliber 8800 beats at a co-axial specific rate of 25,200 vibrations per hour. Omega’s new Seamaster heralds the return of the much loved Omega “wave” dial design. However, the revived design, which references the famed “James Bond Omega Seamaster” of 1993-2011, features a solid ceramic dial that has been laser etched to create the effect of the Omega Seamaster made famous by Pierce Brosnas as Agent 007. The dial redesign sees a date window migrate from three o’clock to six o’clock, and all indices remain applied rather than printed. Skeleton hour and minute hands, made famous in thrillers such as “Goldeneye” and “Tomorrow Never Dies,” return to great acclaim.
