23% of Brits Have No Emergency Fund. Here's What I'd Do Today
According to recent research, around 23% of UK adults have no emergency savings at all. So what happens when the boiler breaks, the car fails its MOT, your hours get cut, or life throws something unexpected at you? In this video, I'm sharing exactly what I would do if I had an emergency today and no emergency fund to fall back on. This isn't about building a savings pot over the next five years. This is about practical steps you can take right now if you're facing a genuine financial emergency. We'll cover: • What to do first when panic sets in • How to stop money leaving your account unnecessarily • Things you can sell quickly • Ways to bring in extra income • When to contact lenders, landlords and utility companies • Support that may be available if you're struggling • The mistakes I would avoid making I've personally used some of these strategies during difficult periods of my life, including mortgage payment arrangements, side hustles, extra jobs and selling items I no longer needed. If you're worried about money, please know you're not alone.
