Ted Greene - CA Vintage Guitar Seminar 2004-08-08 (Part 2 of 2)

The TedGreene.com Archives is happy to release this long-awaited video recording of another seminar that Ted gave at the California Vintage Guitar store in Sherman Oaks, CA. According to our records, he conducted multiple master classes and seminars at the shop between 2002 and 2004: July 14 and December 14 in 2002, May 18 and December 14 in 2003, and this, his last seminar at CVG on August 8, 2004 (about one year before his unexpected passing in July 2005). ** Please Support the Official Archive at https://tedgreene.support ** Two short video clips from the 8/8/2004 seminar had previously been posted on the TedGreene.com site, but became unavailable after the retirement of Adobe Flash Player, and these clips did not get transferred to the Ted Greene YouTube channel. We are now releasing the full seminar, broken into two parts at the point when Ted took a quick break. Part 1 is posted on the Ted Greene YouTube channel:    • Ted Greene - CA Vintage Guitar Seminar 200...   In Part 2 Ted spends significant time reviewing his arrangement of “Over the Rainbow.” To follow along, we recommend downloading the PDF from the TedGreene.com Lessons / Arrangements section: https://www.tedgreene.com/images/less... This arrangement was set in standard music notation by one of Ted’s students, and combined with Ted’s 1990 original page (on page 6), and Ted’s handwritten lead sheet. Part 2: • 00:00 Ted describes the pickups on his Telecaster. • 12:00 They distribute Ted’s May 6, 1990 page for “Over the Rainbow” and he talks of Harold Arlen. • 18:00 Ted begins reviewing his “Over the Rainbow” arrangement. • 22:00 Ted explains his chord grid diagrams playing order: dots, X’s, squares, triangles. • 24:15 Continues review of “Over the Rainbow.” • 42:12 Basic chords for “Over the Rainbow.” • 48:50 Ted plays the whole arrangement. • 51:50 Chord names were purposely left out; names are not as important as the reason they were chosen. Example of Bach’s “Jesu, of Man’s Desiring.” The full program length is slightly shy of 2 hours. Part 1 is 57:36, and Part 2 is 57:38. Enjoy! © Copyright 2026 TedGreene.com.
